They'll be here Friday and don't know if I should do the 'break-in' or not. Most of what I've read here leads me to believe that you do the break-in so you can replicate,as closely as possible, someones calibrated settings.

This is our first experience with plasma's and I'm afraid I'll do something wrong and/or mess something up.We have HDDTV in the basement but a standard receiver in the LR,if that matters.I looked for links concerning settings w/o break-in but I didn't see it.Now I don't know what to do so ANY advice,links..whatever will be greatly appreciated.

Do the break in. 2012 Panasonics seem to be a mixed bag for ir, you want to age the panel as evenly as possible for the first few hundred hours.

Some advise breaking in with the slides on an SD card. Personally, I just used the UT50 settings (PathofNeo's thread) and have been watching 16:9 content a few hours a night. I'm not going to bother with the service menu or anything, I'm happy enough with how it looks. If you are more demanding than myself (or paranoid), just run the slides so you won't be second guessing your choice smile.gif.
