I had Samsung Tech come today to fix my panel because of red tint appearing in white backgrounds- he adjusted the voltage but it didn't help.
Next step is to replace the panel but I am wondering if the tech by adjusting the voltage would cause problems with the new panel that will be installed ? And/or by adjusting the voltage will this cause long term damage to panel ? Can he reset the voltage to optimal settings or factory settings ?
The red tint was the result of normal use on a cheaply made panel. It is kind of like 'burn in'.
I have seen these lower end panels have a red tint especially in the center (4:3) area where the panel gets the most use. A new panel will fix the problem temporarily. The tech should adjust the voltages according to the label on the new panel.
thank you for the response!
the panel was brand new had had 0 hours of use- noticed the red tint during break in with slides.
Sounds like a Panny fanboy, ignore him. I have heard of some Samsungs doing this? Either red or blue. Never had the problem on any of mine though? Where did you buy it? I would return it for another. which model do you have?
