The Panasonic has better blacks, but the Samsung has a brighter picture. Both are very good sets, however, if you are watching in a bright room, the U50 may not be a the best choice due to it's dimmer panel.

I'm in the exact same boat as you trying to decide between these two. The panny is selling for $500 at Costco and BJ's. The sammy is selling for $570 on amazon (no taxes for me) so the price is about the same for me. One positive about buying from Costco is they extend the manufacturer warranty from 1 year to two years. Plus if you have to, exchange/return is much easier at a B&M.

Looking at buying LG 50PA5500 or Panasonic TC-P50U50 or Samsung PN51E530??

all of them are around $500-$550 so im wondering which one is better to buy.

so far this is all that stands out to me...

the LG does 1080/24p (others dont)
Panasonic best overall picture
Samsung is brighter/more vibrant and looks better in brighter rooms

Any idea or suggestion guys?

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I too am interested in peoples thoughts on these sets. I am leaning more towards the Sammy PN51E530 as I think it will be a nice fit for my my room conditions. I was looking at Tigerdirect as they have the Sammy for $577.99 with free shipping. Do you think if I wait a few more days this set might be had any cheaper? I too am on a budget just like everyone else and this will be my first purchase of a plasma so I need to get everything.

I picked up the Panasonic from Costco yesterday. I was not looking at the LG but it looks like a nice set. It has 3 HDMI ports compared to 2 with the other two sets. Also has a swivel stand which the Panny does not.

You won't find the Samsung at Costco anymore. They took it off their website and no stores in northern VA has any left. They couldn't tell me if they were going to restock or not so I ended up purchasing the Panasonic for my parents. Although I really wanted to get them the Samsung, the Panasonic was a good deal.
