We are buying a house and the seller is offering to sell us this mounted 50" tv. any thoughts or idea how much it is worth? Also, anything to look out for? I know it is an older model -- it has probably been used moderately for the past 5 years. Thanks.

The PZ77U series (and it's big brother the PZ700U which i own) were the dimmest plasmas that Panasonic ever made . One thing about the PZ77U is that it had an LCD-like matte screen so it's less reflective than any other Plasma, but it gave the image a lack of depth.

It would help if you told us how much he's asking for it, but i'd put the value at about $200-$300.

Sony 55W800B, Panasonic TC-P55ST60, TiVo 2-Tuner Premiere, TWC Arris DCX3600-M 6-Tuner DVR, Onkyo TX-SR333 AVR, URC MX-890, MX-780, MX-450, MX-500 Remotes.

I had a PZ77U and the viewing angles were actually LCD like due to the heavy matte screen, the matte was intrusive enough that you could see a dirty / grainy effect on solid colors, the black level performance left much desired, also the 480P scaling was pretty poor we were surprised how bad the Wii looked on it via Component cables.

I ended up replacing it with an 8G Kuro 5080HD and the improvement was shocking across the board, Even with its lower resolution (1366x768 vs. PZ77U's 1080p).

Honestly I would keep looking.
