Been researching tvs and narrowed the search to a Samsung pn513530 or Panasonic TC-P50u50. I don't really care about connectivity or 3d-or should I? My question is with either tv, is there a difference in pic quality stepping up to the basic 3d models of either one? I'm talking about regular tv picture, not 3d picture. Or, to put it another way, are the screens on the 3d models the same except they have the capability to show 3d?
I was looking at the same two you posted above. Bought the 51E530 b/c the U50 was out of stock at the time and I didn't want to wait.
Based on all the research I've done and viewing the different models I couldn't tell a difference in PQ b/t the E530 and E550. From my understanding the screen and technology/features are the same with the exception of wi-fi & 3D.
As you move up in models you'll notice a difference with PQ and anti-glare filters.
I think everyone in the E530 thread is very happy with the performance of their set given the price.
Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and bought the Samsung and am watching it now. It sure is a better picture than my 10 year old Samsung dlp! So far no glare problems.
I asked the salesperson at HH Gregg and he seemed to think the picture quality would be better if I stepped up. I really have no need for all the extras.
