I'm torn both ways and would appreciate some help from people more knowlegable than me. I don't care about 3d. Streaming can be done through my OPPO. The 6020 is the same as the Elite in black levels but does not have a lot of calibration controls and has more of a saturated look as a result. I have an Elite 111fd but would like a bigger screen.

I have to decide by the end of the day to get the 6020 deal.

Thanks!

What about paying for a custom calibration?

With only 700 hours, get the Pioneer. You can get the Elite board and do the swap as well, giving you all those missing calibration controls.

Either one but mainly the 6020 sense it doesn't have as many user adjustments and is cheaper so you would have money for that compared to a $3000 TV.

6020 imo

Obviously it's 5" smaller than the 65" vt but (more) than makes up for it in the quality of components and image quality.

I have sold my nearly four year old krp500 tv (uk) and have traced a remarkably low used 500m and it never crossed my mind for a second to try any other plasma after seeing what's out there today. Not that im saying others aren't good. But the components, panel/module and sheer image quality of these Pioneers isn't going to go away anytime soon.

And any 'extras' that come with "modern" tv's can be had for the 8 & 9G Kuro's externally so no big deal there : )

Thanks! My concern is that watching a 6020 after 4 years of watching a 111fd with D-nice settings would be a let down. Also can't help but notice how modern looking displays are now. I have a quality problem though; the 111fd looks great still.

You can convert that 6020 into an Elite, with respect to the controls by swapping a circuit board, or modifying your own (there's a thread on this in the forums).
