Haha you are kidding me... how can a cheaper TV better than the much expensive ones... How does its 3D performance? What i heard Panasonic Plasma is not rendering full 1080p rather than 720p for 3D... compare to Samsung, which is full HD for 3D

Last years panny flagship the VT50 was 3 grand.

This years st60 has a equal or better picture. For much less. So a cheaper tv can always be better. As far a Samsung, well I have a strong opinion that it is not a reliable product. I will not comment however as it gets no where.

Panny has a new patch today that corrected the 3d issue.

Anyone got a list of updates from this latest firmware?

Edit: is it me or does the screen wipe seem to swipe faster?

Screen wipe seems to be the same speed it's always been on my 50ST60. One thing the update doesn't fix is the laggy, jumpy menu system.

What problems does youse guys see in the remote?
Except for the fact I keep hitting "HOME" rather than the "Up Arrow", it seems ok. I like the Netflix controls on the remote.

Any opinions on a used, but well kept for 50" ST50 for $650, or a new 50" ST60 for $998 from Amazon?

I can afford the new one, but saving ~$350 sounds appealing too, unless there is a pretty big difference PQ wise between the two sets.

If someone finds some release notes with some actual fixes, please post. I will continue to look myself. If there was 3D patch it might be worth the headache to try & calibrate now.

How is the Firmware update sent to us?

Or do we go somewhere to grab it?

Panasonic TC-P60ST60 + Sony STR-DG810 + LG BH200 + JBL L830's x2 + JBL LC1 + JBL Loft40 x 2 + Polk PSW10 + Harmony One

Does it give you a notice when you turn the TV on?

My TV was already on last night when I saw the first person post about the news, and I went to the Menu, online/network, and manually downloaded it.

I'm going to the U.S. for a couple of days anyway and was just hoping to pick the TV up on the way home rather than making a special trip.

I can also save at least $100 in sales taxes if I pick it up as part of a 48 hour trip.

I'll have to measure the back seat today and see if that might work though I suspect anything bigger than a 50" might be too big for the back seat.

If you ask the seller to bubble rap it. It will fit. This is how it fit in my car. I have a BMW 335XI and it just fit.

3D picture quality looks much improved as well

Thanks for the heads up on this.

How do you assess this? Looking at patterns from AVS709 and Spears, it looks the same as I remember. The top and bottom edge lines are in the frame, but the left and right ones are outside it.

After updating my 65ST60 to the new software version, I think 3D is definitely improved regarding fast motion. I watched part of Hugo in 3D again tonight and it looks better to me.

Is anyone here able to test if input lag happened to be improved in game mode?

I'm hoping I don't have to get an S60...

Hey guys, just made the switch from the Samsung F7100 LED to a 65 ST60. I loved the pop that 7100 gave me, but I had 2 sets with pretty bad clouding frown.gif Anyways, what settings do you guys use on your PS3 with this TV? Like as far as the HDMI color range and so forth. I think the options are under Display Settings on PS3. Using HDMI Full on the PS3 makes the screen VERY dark. Are there preferred settings on the ST60 I could use in tandem with the PS3 to get the optimal picture? Thanks guys!

Hi Dank0723,

i also have the 65" Samsung 7100 and i love the pop image but there are some issues. I have own 3 plasma TVs for the past 8 years and love them. I am deciding to return the Samsung and going with either 65 ST60 or VT60. I have been reading a lot of review on the both TVs and saw the VT60 in person and I think the White is not that great with overhead lighting.
I was wondering how did ST60 white and image quality compared to the 7100 or the VT60. Also ared to the 7100?
Also how is 3D compared to the 7100?

I was gonna jump on a used 55ST50 from amazon, but they raised the price 400$ before I bit. Amazon Warehouse is a huge gamble, but the price was really good and the only way to still get an ST50. They are usually very amicable to returns. Really dumb of me. The 55ST60 just came down from 1-2 months to 2-5 weeks. But they also just raised the price on that too, from 1350$ up to 1479$
If Costco carried this plasma, I'd go down there today, buy a membership and buy one. Right now I'll probably wait for the 1350$ price point at amazon to return and bite.

What is Sears return policy like? I need to go down to Costco and see what other TV's they have.

Costco's is 90 days 0 questions, its beyond awesome. Worth a membership just for that return policy. Amazon is a solid 30 days. Sears?
I wish Costco carried the ST60. Does anyone know of alternatives at Costco?
