Asking can't hurt, most they can say is no, best case is they consider it. I would personally love to completely eliminate the whole Home screen stuff, seriously needs to go, BUT, we have to consider they are marketing the TV a certain way and to change features post launch could be seen as not living up to their promise. Kinda like how Sony eliminated many features from the PS3 up until midway through its lifespan.

Hmm do you think it would be worth returning my 50st60 and get the gt50 for $100 more at bestbuy? Im a bit concerned with input lag, didn't seem to bother me while gaming but the thought of it there is!

I don't think it is worth it. I have the ST60 also and I was also considering the GT50. Not only is it $100 more, but you also lose the 3D glasses. So it is a net of about $250 difference. I know I don't notice any input lag, if you don't either... I wouldn't worry about it.

There is no TV too BIG, only rooms too small

I have asked about this myself. The few responses I have seen have been positive. And based on Panasonics good track record with ABL functionality I feel pretty good about the ST60 not having any fluctuating issues but I would like to hear more positive feedback myself.

All reports have stated anywhere between a slight to significant PQ improvement in the ST60 over any of the 50 models even the VT50...'nuff said

They're forwarding the information I provided to their engineers, and asking if the display lag is how the TV is spec'd. If it is, then they'll let us know which user settings specifically will cut back on display lag, such as disabling processing and enabling game mode. If it isn't within spec then obviously they're going to have to look into stuff. The Panny rep also said there are other avenues they can take, too, but first they need to hear back from the engineers.

So, if people love the set but aren't happy about the input lag, then please let them know! If you send in an email, please be sure to specify you want it forwarded to a Techncal Knowledge Specialist who can pass the info along. The more feedback, the better.

Last time I bring this up in this thread, I just want as many users of the set as possible who may be concerned with it to help voice their concerns. That is all.
I've gotten the same email. I hope they can find something soon.

I'm trying to play a video from my laptopt to my ST60 via Apple TV 3 and it's very choppy where it wasn't with my prior TV. I'm thinking there's a setting I need to de/activate. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

Really? people really need to stop propagating this information, with little to no backup, they ahve stopped R&D, they MAY pull out of plasma as of 2014, but that is yet to be determined and still could create plasmas for the next few years without the R&D section.....You wont see a real end to plasma until they can make OLED a true cost replacement for it....

Either way it's the beginning of the end. Try to make anything without r&d and see how long it's around.

For those who care, it looks like CNET may have a review up for the ST60 very soon. They have posted new pictures under the ST60 review section, including their standard screen pic, remote "in hand" pic, bezel pic, etc. Those pics were definitely taken at the CNET lab, on their "test" set. The actual written review is not there yet, but the pics from their testing are up. I'm looking forward to what David/Ty have to say.

Hey now; what's wrong with the Sega Genesis?

But really, these examples aren't comparable. Your have a Sega and everyone else has Nintendo, you can't share games. HD-DVD is discontinued; no more new HD-DVD releases. Plasma is discontinued (unconfirmed), but so what? Sucks for those who might have wanted a Panasonic Plasma in the future, but it doesn't exactly hinder plasma owners in any way.

Are you expecting them to give you a new firmware for ST60 to reduce input lag tonight? Or are you expecting them to replace your ST60 with a VT60? I think you are asking too much. I am surprised they are even replying at this hour. You are not talking to anyone important enough to pull any string, so just be polite and state your concerns and allow them time to respond.

I'm done on this issue other than deciding whether the lag is enough to return the panel or not. And after 35 years of video gaming (yeah, that's right. I began with PONG. dang I feel old), I'll know.
I love the fact that they will forward it to the now sun-setting Plasma R&D division. That reply just sounds like a form letter email, or auto response.

Excepting for the fact that you may not be in Illinois, or simply want to buy local, but ABT and others have ST60s for significantly less than what you indicated.
