Thanx for the link. There are different numbers of models on other forums. Will have to wait until they come out.

Ok , got my 65" ZT60 ordered up today. The best buy guy ordered through the "OMS" whatever that means... Anyone know? I hope it isn't a round about way of pre ordering to where my order will fall in between the cracks??? Anyway, best buy threw in a Sanus low profile wall mount as well which I thought was awesome! I talked to two different best buys in my area and was told they will be in on the 17th or 22nd..not sure why the two stores had two different dates? They also said it was back ordered but they said the only reason it says that is because its not available yet. So that's the info I got.

MY NAME IS SUE!!! HOW DO YOU DO!!!

I hear the ZT is chrome in color. That could be a deal breaker.

You can see it here (though not accentuated): http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/TC-P65ZT60

How it looks in person will be the biggest determination if one can personally tolerate it. I'm not bothered since most viewing will be in the dark.

Yout can see how the chrome bezel looks as Robert from VE has taken some pictures and posted them to his site......The zoomed picture looks much more severe, but it is a shiny chrome edge that reminds me of the "Project Kuro" bezel, but of course much much less chrome....

Oh believe me, I do understand you smile.gif Im "young" in the sense, but I dont endlessly obsess over the issues. If I can find a TV Im happy with, Im happy smile.gif, there is always room for improvement, but I dont let that stop me from being happy with a purchase.

Looks the same as the VT. The same ugly silver strip border.

I can get an ugly stand but a nice bezel with the 8500 or an ugly bezel and a nice stand with the ZT. Good thing these guys don't design cars. smile.gif

yes and yes. I want to put some hours on it, probably 500 or so before calibrating. THX Cinema looks great right now. I am not running slides this time. No IR retention noticeable with static bars and channel markers. I will do some gaming soon. I can't imagine how good this picture is going to get with calibration, but I look forward to that day!

OMS ordering is good. I think it means best buy actually has possession of them. Once it shows up in that system it shouldn't be long at all. I got my VT 65" not long at all after it popped up in OMS. I was going into my best buy Magnolia every few days.

I did notice that on their website you could select the model and then check for store availability. There is a tab for warehouse supply. None of the stores had them but the warehouse did. That is when I went and ordered it in store. First the order tab had to change from coming soon though!

Thanks for the info. From other posts, sounds like it should be arriving between the 16th and 22nd. They asked me if I wanted it delivered but I don't know if I can hold off from picking it up myself, im too impatient!! biggrin.gif

I hear you on impatience, lol. I picked mine up also to save on the taxes. Delaware doesn't charge sales tax on any purchases. I saved $186 by picking it up, and got it much faster! Only a 15 minute drive for me in PA, which would want tax money if it was delivered. They get too much of my money as it is!

I'm sitting here watch my outstanding VT50 and wondering if I made the right choice ordering the ZT. My VT has no IR problems. No buzzing that I can hear. No panel anomalies. I sure hope the ZT is everything they say it is.

The border on my VT doesn't bother me at all. If the ZT border is the same as the VT no problem. I hope it isn't thicker though.

Other things that would make me unhappy if I wasn't already happy would be a Smart TV with:

My Home Screen
Swipe & Share 2.0
Voice Interaction

... and the VT ugly silver trimmed bezel.

So is the ZT surely to have IR issues being its a plasma? Should gaming be avoided? Or pausing?

^Yes, it will inevitably suffer from some IR. How bad is the unknown quantity (typically, it will be worse in the earliest hours of usage)...if I get one, I'll probably be using slides for the first 500 hours. :X
