Hi Lads
I posted this question in the official ST50 thread, thanks to a couple of members who posted back but I still not sure to be concerned or not. As I stated there I've had my new TH-60ST50A for a week and half and I've noticed that when starting up from cold (in standby overnight) and after the smart veira splash screen has come and gone, the resulting picture will be grainy and dull looking with small black dots (pixels) for about 1 to 2 seconds then smooth and the spots disappear also. If you turn the TV off for say an hour, and then back on again all starts normally as I expected it should do all the time? (Note I’m just using the standard settings at this stage, with PNR and ECO mode off) I must admit the operation of the TV from the initial turn on is great with no issues with the screen from then on (maybe a bit grainy looking but I’m coming from 50”PZ700A that I believe people thought were soft) and if I listen up close with no sound I can hear some buzzing on white scene’s, but it’s not an issue for me (October build date)
I contacted Panasonic OZ, they suggested it’s normal (must be a common theme, with call centre’s the world over) they said it was related the energy saving settings now used in standby for plasma’s. I thought that was a reasonable answer, but the guy I spoke too when asked said he has never had an enquirer about this before. He did add that he has a list of known issues with Panasonic plasma’s/and suggested remedy’s for owners. He didn’t elaborate any further about it though!
I’ll finish with this thought though, I've done heaps of internet surfing the last couple of days and can’t seem to find any reference to this problem, if it is a problem? I’m happy to keep this TV, but can any of our knowledgeable posters on here have any thoughts or suggestions that can put my fears to rest, thanks. Regards wassa

I believe mine did that once when I first got, probably within the week of owning it. It did it once, but never again and I've had it now since November.

Panasonic 55ST50
Yamaha RX-V673
Klipsch RF-52 II // RC-52 II // RS-42 II
Klipsch RW-12d
Klipsch KG 2.5
