I'm looking to buy a Plasma for my room and will mostly watch blu-ray movies on it. I'd like to ask the experts on here, which displays are generally considered the best in the $1,500 price range.

Also, I would like movies to be reproduced in the native 24FPS.

Thank You,

Santiago

You need to say what size screen you want.
Take a look at Consumer Reports March 2013 TV ratings I think they did a good job. This is the time of year where the 2012's prices going up due to supplies running out. 2013's coming soon but prices will be start on high side. I am happy with Panasonic 55ST50 which was only $1150.

You're right, size would be good. I am looking at 55"-65" range. I have heard some good things about the Panasonic but also have seen some Samnsungs in similar price ranges. My main concern is finding a display that will handle 24FPS and not up-convert it to a different framerate.

Samsung PN59d8000

$1599 shipped. A Little over your budget, but its a 59" and samsungs flagship model of yesteryear.

I own it. I love it. You will too. Classy bezel. Great media streaming / Smart TV interface. And excellent picture. Plays virtually all media files you can throw at it.
