I wasn't implying anything of the sort. Just curious as to why the 500m/101 have different power supplies than the 111.

ahh, I see... the depth difference on the panels required some psu components to be mounted / situated to accommodate the shallow depth in the 101/500m, an updated psu design and more overall cooling efficiency design (similar was to be used going forward, which never happened of course).

no impact on MLL

So if the cause of the difference (in the measured black level) could solely be attributed to manufacturing process, why people still label these as 9G and 9.5G panels as if they were of different technology????

In a way, it is more appropriate than not IMO.. in reality, Kagoshima was the latest process technology..

and it's easy enough to post, looks good to.

The KRPM's and the Elite monitors share a different, but (newer) IC, than in comparison to the other models. According to a interesting little manual i found online. Called the... Pioneer service, Product Training Guide Supplement 9th generation Monitor Models. Covers the (very) slight differences between the Elite and the KRP's explained. And a couple of other handy little pointers in there also explained smile.gif
