I have a C7000 series Plasma. There was a dirty spot on the TV or so I thought. I decided to clean it off. It wasn't coming off easily and it had a crusty feel so I applied bit of pressure and now it looks like the out layer had rub off? I now have a quarter sized spot that's extra shinny compared to the rest of the screen. Damn did I rub the anti-glare coating off?

Sounds like you did rub it off. The AR coating is delicate and using too much pressure can damage it.
