Thanks Ken,

Is it just gray color? Or others too?
I wouldn't mind if it is different colors changing say every 3 -5 minutes. Just to prevent the IR

Glad all is working well for you. I asked because there are some users who are facing problems with the F8000 so thought this might be Samsung related.

Note I did unload and unzip it and it is a update image "update.msd" with a modified date of April 25th...

maybe its just in that group name so to speak? like the manual... is for all these tvs..? i also think ken said robert said this update may not be the pop and flux blk fix and that one should be out soon.

Yeah I tend to agree. I have a 7.1 system and I rarely find content that makes full use of it. And many times if the source is 5.1 it actually sounds better when I just leave it that way instead of trying to upconvert to 7.1. 9.2 seems overkill to me. But to each his/her own.

I just updated my tv to 1101.2 The brightness pops are still there and it does erase all settings to default. If your tv is calibrated make sure you write down all your settings before updating. Samsung says the update gives us picture improvement. Looks the same to me. My tv size is 64 and im in nyc.

Well according To Robert the brightness pops fix is in a separate update coming soon. I just don't know why Samsung says there is picture improvement when as far as I can see there isn't. I do notice though that voice recognition works better---- not that anyone cares lol.

I also and experiencing the banding issue and have a samsung tech coming tomorrow to look at it. If he cant do anything about it I think im going to return my set. I have a 64 btw.

Maybe the 9.2 suggestion was a joke. There's very little material that actually makes good use of a 7.1 setup. I've visited an AVS freind with a 9.2 setup, along with the Sony 4K projector and a 128" screen. The owner, and I, were doubtful that the 9.2 setup added anything.

Folks, when reporting firmware updates its best to name your location as NA and EU update numbers are different. Also, there needs to be mroe than 1101.....The "fix" firmware is supposedly 1017.2....the update that everyone seems to be getting is 1101.2 (posted by Pinger earlier) which looks like a "general" update and "not" the fix that everyone is looking for......

me too because it lists-- Improves picture quality in the update description. Does anyone who installed it notice a difference in their picture quality? Also says --- Supports more MSO in OnTV feature. Anyone know what that is or means?

The firmware may not be a "general" firmware so it may not need to fit the regular numbering conventions......This particular firmware if it is indeed the 1101.2 is for the PDP AND LCD lines, the specific update youa re looking for is PDP only....

Pretty much, that "Improves Picture" is just a general statement and it may not mean visbale improvements..
