I'm not getting too hung up on blacks, mine looks incredible and I like these comments in the review
So, scientific testing reveals that Samsung has made yet another huge improvement to both ends of the contrast performance spectrum on the PS64F8500. It has astonishingly deep blacks, and whites that are insanely bright for a plasma display of this screen size. It’s a serious achievement, and it means that when both ends of the contrast spectrum are taken into account, Samsung is in first place ahead of Panasonic.
No matter how good reviews are + owners opinions + people (with alot and proven knowledge in the AVS world) that have had a change of "playing" thoroughly with the F8500..... Haters gonna hate....
Right now i see that the F8500 is exactly what i am looking for (seems that it fits like a glove to my viewing conditions. We never watch movies/TV in complete darkness. Guess i´m not the only one).
My "trusty old" C8000 LCD has been very nice the last 3 years (true that it doesn´t cope well with very "dark movies" but for the most part it still looks great) so just to think that i´ll get the brightness and "pop" of my LCD, the sense of "clarity and sharpness" (hard to explain), but none of the shortcomings of LCD/edge LED technology + the advantages of plasma technology, and well..... my mouth starts watering
regarding the stand/styling.... from an interior design standpoint, i feel the design of this set will fit in many different types of rooms. its clean lines and simplicity will blend and take on whatever look your room is styled for. unless the room is extremely glammed up, this style should work! even tho it looks more industrial, it can blend with elegant... opulent, probably not the best choice!
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder
, with this being said, from day one i liked a lot the design of the F8500, but i reckon is not the most practical, and some people might have to buy a new stand, luckily mine is big enough (just).
