So far I like the change in format adding the day mode. Hopefully the YouTube vids will eliminate all the down time while these guys drink while pretending they're voting. biggrin.gif:D:D:D:D:D:D

Sitting back with a beer watching the show. I wish it was in HD. Surprised not much difference from VT to ZT and the brightness levels that much lower than the F8500. We just might have a winner on our hands. biggrin.gif

I think samsung just sold a couple more f8500... 30fl just isn't enough brightness for me when friends are over for fights with lighting on...

I know we're looking through a crappy web broadcast but... Is it just me or is the F8500 looking like it owns vt/zt (now that we know they're the same...) lunch?

Why wouldn't they just block out the frames of all the panels then just let people vote that way without know what panel is what and voting on best picture? rolleyes.gif

Because then they wouldn't be able to bias the audience for Panasonic.

And fascinating - in a hurry. I get 46 FtL max out of my 65VT50 and find it hard to believe they aren't reaching that level with the 2013's. The numbers they're showing seem to be too high for ANSI contrast so it's all a bit confusing especially because I lost the feed at a critical point.

Those new big a$$ Samsung pixels might be a PDP game changer....

Calibrators confirming all three panel colors are pretty much close to rec709! biggrin.gif

Only Samsung have RGB calibration control (I think that's what is called? Calibrator Kevin Miller discussing it earlier) capability!

Looking at those green (or any solid color) screens is a waste of time - they have nothing to compare except each other and which is correct? What are they thinking?????

No. Only Samsung has B, G, & R only screens internally. Nothing more.

Regarding this whole idea that the 60" panel's are somehow materially different, apart from acreage in square inches, than the 51" and 64" panels????!!! Imma tha confused?

Thats the F5500 that they are different not the F8500. With the F5500 the 60" is a pentile display while the 51 and 64 are "normal" full 1080 sets.....there is some info in the F5500 thread about that since I dont want to take this thread too far off topic wink.gif
Thanks for clearing that up. I'm not even shopping, but I couldn't help trying to find corroborating information. Of course I failed. rolleyes.gif

Samsung and Panasonic's tracked color perfectly according to calibrators in the shootout.

You may not. I only need one, but there are a lot of people who connect HDMI devices directy to their display. Someone who doesn't use an AVR might connect a cable box, a Blu-ray player, a HTPC, and a streaming device to their TV. That's probably not any where close to the number of options. wink.gif
