Sorry to hear about the two pixels. Maybe the flipper will unstick them?
Still have the VT60. Thinking of selling it. This TV gets played primarily in the daytime now and my son is getting to the age where he might want to start playing video games.
While my VT60 has been great so far with IR I think I would be afraid to play video games on it. I know Samsungs have a record of handling long term IR better.
I originally was going to go with something much cheaper like the 64H5000 but then had a change of heart.
I tried a Vizio 70" P series but the side angle viewing or lack of totally ruined that TV for me.
I always loved the F8500 and with the price drop and the change to the way this TV gets used it seems like the perfect candidate.
Of course this is all dependent on the sale of my VT60 but it is not like I will lose sleep if I have to keep the VT60. The TV is amazing and everything just works.
Sometimes Samsung tries to do to much, just like what they do with their phones and it leads to a bunch of bugs, so reading what people write about the F8500 does not surprise me.
I will give another one a try most likely. I also don't agree that people who love the TV don't post. There are lots of people who post here that love their TV, including the F8500. It does not mean you should dismiss posts from people who have complaints. It just means these are things you should be aware of if you get the TV and they are things to look for. It doesn't mean everyone will have the same problems or be effected by it.
My thing is try and make sure to order from somewhere that takes returns. This way you won't be stuck with anything but you at least get the chance to test drive it for yourself and not through other people's eyes.
