I would say sharpness at 0 to 5, or possibly up to 10 if you must but you will get a unnaturally sharp picture with anything over 5 or 6.

A lot of people here have their sharpness between 10 and 20. But if you are going to use DCV, you lose a little detail(not much on Low setting). Crank it to your liking. If you think its too high, bring it down. A lot of this also depends how far you are sitting from the television. Im a good 10-12ft from my tv so my sharpness is either at 15 or 20. 15 for blu and 20 for Directv. Some people who sit closer will be between 0 and 10

Samsung 60F8500
LG 55LHX
LG BH200
2 PS3's

Sharpness: settings can be different for every set, and change after calibration. Minimum 5, Maximum 25.
Video quality - decide AFTER you have 1000 hours on the set! This is not a 100 Hour LED/LCD!

OK, well i upped my sharpness, and the picture is not soft at all anymore. I basically stayed close to zero based on what most here have, but that didnt cut it for me. 30 is the sweet spot for me! Hey, its what i like, im sure most here will cringe with sharpness that high. I had dynamic contrast on too! Not sure how that happened, So NOW I have the TV i was expecting! As soon as my wife looked, she even noticed. Amazing how just a few lil changes can affect the picture. Thanks guys, now its time to enjoy!

As long as you are happy and it looks good to you is what really matters.

A lot of us here would probably look at your TV and think it looked like crap and immediately shut off dynamic contrast and lower your sharpness. LOL

Glad you and your wife are happy though!

I turned OFF Dynamic contrast...it somehow was on. I believe thats what was giving me that terrible grain.

it's the uniformity that gets me.

I'll take an old 'fat' ccfl backlit lcd over anything on the market right now. there's definitely some hope again, if FALD makes a come back. I don't have experience with one to say whether or not it'll be uniform enough for me(I suspect a good one would be)
