Hey Guys,

I am selling my PN59D6500 to a friend and am going to make a small upgrade to my TV. Right now I am looking at either the TC-P60ST60 and the PN60E8000 televisions but am completely open to other opinions. I have had a few Panasonic plasmas and I like them however I have heard great things about the Panasonic panels. It seems this year that there is a big gap in the Samsung lineup from the F5500 to the F8500 which is too bad.

I use my tv for gaming, movies, and tv shows. So input lag is a factor however for games that I am really worried about input lag I use a gaming monitor. I really like deep black levels which is what got me looking at the Panasonic in the first place. I do watch 3D movies from time to time but I care much more about 2D quality than 3D quality.

Thanks!
-Jeff

Panasonic's 2012 black levels were better than Samsung's. 2013 black levels for both Samsung and Panasonic should be better than what they achieved last year. Which 2013 panels will have the best mll and motion handling? We won't know until they've all been tested. The VE Shootout is scheduled for May, we'll know about the top models at least by then- even if they haven't all been released yet. wink.gif

Yeah I was hoping I could come to a better conclusion by then. As long as the TC-P60ST60 is better than my current PN59D6500 then I would probably be pretty happy.

Whats everyones thoughts on a 60GT50 vs 60ST60? Prices are very similar...any major differences? I know there isn't a GT series in 2013 models...

Okay so I'm trying to decide between the ST60 and the Samsung 7100 and one area that has me on the fence is video game performance. I would have thought gaming on the ST60 would have less lag than on the 7100, but I've read a few posts in this thread that lists the lag time at 66ms, which is more than the 7100's lag time of 43ms. Is the ST60 a poor videogame display or were those people probably just using incorrect settings for gaming?

My 60st60 has substantially better picture quality than my Samsung 58c8000 had. Can't tell you about lag.

You are talking a difference of .023 of a second.

CNET says it is 73.6ms for the ST60 and that is really terrible for video game performance.

Sure, but that makes a big difference for videogames.
