The manual does not say that. The manual states NOT to unplug the power from the tv while the firmware is updating. I think you're confusing the terms "update" and "reset". Some folks, before resetting the tv to its factory defaults, will unplug all hdmi sources from the tv. Has nothing to do with updating the firmware.

^ I know you stated HDMI cable, but it doesn't mention that in the manual. I think you're confusing the terms "update" and "reset". Some folks, before resetting the tv to its factory defaults, will unplug all hdmi sources from the tv. Has nothing to do with updating the firmware. Do you honestly think Samsung wants you to unplug your hdmi cables from your tv *every* time there's a firmware update available? It's not feasible, or reasonable.

Actually, you shouldn't unplug your hdmi cables or reconnect them with the power on. You could short out the port hardware inside the tv.

Hey man, can you take a look at my second report in this post and let me know what you think? I'd like to know from a pro if I need to give it a third go or just sit back and enjoy.

Regarding Kevin Miller's settings, what the heck does "Low Red" and "High Red" mean in his calibrations? And then there's all the random numbers under it.

I would assume gain and offset in the white balance setting.
