Hello all. I haven't been to this forum in quite some time so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I am currently using a Samsung ln46c630 LCD as my primary living room TV. I have owned it for about 2 years and have never been happy with it's performance. No matter how many times I try and calibrate the picture with various tuning tools such as the calibration app for the iPad, I can never get the picture to appear pleasing to me. The colors always seem too over-saturated and I can constantly detect ghosting even with the 120Hz option on. Many guests that I entertain tell me that they think the picture is fine and that I'm just nitpicking but at the end of the day, I should be the one who's content with my purchase, no? Anyhow, I'll get to the point. My wife and I are planning to have a child within the next year or so and thus, any expendable income that I would generally have will in all likelihood vanish in a plume of smoke. I am looking to get a new TV and need advice on what to purchase. I have heard through a gaming podcast that I listen to that the Panasonic ST series is absolutely fantastic and nigh unbeatable in value within it's price range. I am a media whore of sorts and unfortunately do not fall under any single category of use when it comes to TV's such as "primary use is gaming", "primary use is movies", or "primary use is sports viewing". I am an avid fan of all 3 of these viewing habits and spend TONS of time in each genre. I will probably have a budget of $700-$900 and would like to find the best value/picture within that range. I would like to say that I'd be able to sell my current Samsung LCD to be able to contribute to the funding of the new one but I honestly don't think anyone would pay anything more than $100-$200 for it and I don't like the idea of having a revolving door of Craigslister's streaming through my house and kicking the tires on the TV only to try and lowball me. (If there is a better way of selling a used TV these days, please let me know!) Thank you for your patience in reading this and for any advice I may receive. I'm have no allegiance to LED or Plasma and am open to any suggestions.
