I would love to hear from those who didn't overly stress about the "break in" time of their plasma and the results....I am ready and willing to spend some good money on a new TV (most likely the 60ST60) but I am having second thoughts because all the stuff I have read about break in time and what people have or haven't done properly when pulling their TV out of the box. TV shopping is fun but the thought of getting my new TV home has become stressful!!
No need to stress. Just watch normally and enjoy. There are certain hings that are recommended for the first 100 hours or so, but they are easy to do. If you watch mostly full screen content (no black bars) you'll be ok. I did the 100 hours of slides because I wanted to try D-Nices's settings, but since then I just use my tv normally. I watch whatever I want, pause for bathroom breaks and phone calls, and don't worry about a thing.
Unpack, plug in, connect to Satellite or CATV provider box with hdmi cable, adjust color, brightness, contrast using either the THX app for the iPhone/iPod Touch, iPad, or a calibration blu-ray, then start watching tv. Go back in six months, check the settings again, adjust if needed to, and continue to watch tv as before.
