Thanks guys for your input.
I tried the settings you posted and they look pretty good, however I lowered Brightness to 45, because I like a slightly darker picture and in my experience it helps the blacks too.
I have gamma on 2.4 too, 2.2 looks too bright.
Anyway, I had already achieved basically the same settings (except for the color correction at the end) starting from the "CINEMA" pre-set and working my way from there.
I tried "dynamic contrast", set on low, at first, but had to turn it off because sometimes I noticed the contrast adjustment taking place (esp. during fast sequences/cuts) and it was pretty annoying.
Btw what PANEL LIGHT value do you use? I believe you forgot to say. I have mine at 70.
I've never owned or seen the PA6500, so don't know bout that, but
the black levels on this seem pretty good, especialy if, like we both did, one lowers the backlight and brightness values a bit.
Thanks for the "Color Gamut: wide" tip, the colours look slightly better now.
Honestly though guys, the picture looked amazing even on the pre-sets, albeit a bit too bright. A very good cheap tv imo.
The onboard speakers suck though, terrible terrible audio quality.
I have to hooked it up to both a HTPC via hdmi and bluray player (hdmi too) plus 2.1 audio system via optical cable. Also game on it.
