Also, there's a chance that I have other issues like dead pixels and banding.
A later build date doesn't mean much. It seems the foam fix was added to the manufacturing process at some point but, as some will attest, the foam fix doesn't solve the noise problem, it just mitigates it slightly. To date I recall seeing vinnie and maybe one or two other people reporting dead/stuck pixels, so that is rarely an issue. The buzzing is also a rare issue. As for the banding, nearly everyone who has looked for it has seen it along the right side while running slides but it fades with time and is rarely (if ever) noticeable during standard (i.e. non-slide) content.

Has is actually been verified that the factory fix is exactly the same as the foam kit fix? Agreed that dead/stuck pixels is rare, but it could happen (and with my luck eek.gif). Some have reporting the buzzing, but it's hard to get a sense on whether some people are just more sensitive to the sound/frequency. As I understand it, most plasmas buzz to some degree. I just don't know if my set is buzzing more or am I just more sensitive to that sound. I wish there was a way to measure the degree of buzzing, so I could compare it to other sets.

All I've seen--which I admit isn't much--seems to indicate the factory fix is the same as the foam fix. Others, please correct me if I'm wrong here. All plasmas buzz to some degree but, as with the fan noise, it seems some ZTs may be worse than others. Otherwise I can't account for ANYONE being upset with the level of buzzing from my set (even when listening for it), just as the fan noise I'm hearing does not resemble how I've seen it described on other sets.

There are a couple of other things I should mention. I have tried to plug the tv into a UPS and two other non-UPS wall sockets for two different circuits. No changes in the buzzing. The other thing I should say and maybe this is the big thing...this tv buzzes about the same level as my older P65V10. I'm curious if anyone else has owned a V10 and can comment on the level of buzz between the two sets.

Not sure how much buzz you are getting but I can tell you the buzz I am getting is not normal, during bright scenes it can be heard over dialogue at my normal volume(-33db on my receiver).

I went to a local best buy that had this tv and the buzz was maybe 1/4 what I am experiencing, I could barely hear it with my head right next to the tv.

Just took delivery on a 60ZT60 with an August build date. I am currently running D-Nice's slides and cannot find any bad pixels. I am sitting approximately eight feet from the set and cannot hear any fan noise unless I get behind the panel. biggrin.gif Nothing will be watched until I have completed the 100 hour slide show.

IMO I think you should do full month and a half, just to be safe. that's what I did...with my older 2010 set, I did nothing but a 100 hour slides, but after that I still got IR and burn in....

What does that mean, a full month and a half? 1080 hours?eek.gif That won't lessen the susceptibility to IR/burn-in anymore than 300 hours will (the maximum you should bother breaking in).

My sequential number is A111XX. Based on the A07777 number mine must have been manufactured toward the end of the August.

I have a 55VT30 that had the 100 hour slide prep before being calibrated by D-Nice. I was careful what I watched for the first few months and image retention does not appear to be an issue.

Mine is 8000-something but built in July. The TV folder # has little correlation with build date.

denaliman,

Can you let us know how the fan noise is. Congrats on your August ZT build unit. Cherish it.

Hey guys, as most of you know I'm taking delivery of my ZT on Saturday. Couple questions.

Its been cold lately and of course my ZT will be exposed to the frigid temperatures. How long will I have to let my ZT adjust to normal room temperatures before turning it on.

Also, I downloaded D-Nices break in slides for 2013 Panasonics. I'm questioning whether I downloaded the correct ones. There are only 15 slides: Red, Blue, Green and the rest of various shades of gray/white. Is this correct?

Thanks

I am surprised to hear that nearly all ZTs have banding. o.o After all, ZT is Panasonic's flagship plasma. FWIW, I can see the banding on many commercials since many of them use uniform bright/white backgrounds. I am not sure if the banding on mine is getting better, but it is definitely not getting worse.

Thanks

I downloaded D-Nice slides from Panasonic ZT/VT/ST settings thread on this forum. I have 12 slides in total. Three slides are primary colors. The rest of the slides are shades of gray/white/black. I am surprised that you have 15 slides... I also saw slides on the web(not D-Nice slides) that have various shades of primary colors in addition to various shades of gray/black/white.

Can anybody chime in on this?

I am planning to use D-Nice slides on my ZT replacement because this time, I want to get over break in quickly and want to try D-Nice settings. I would hate to run wrong set of slides and mess up the PQ somehow.

^^^^^^^^^Sorry guys about my incorrect information. As stated here it is only 12 slides with the 3 primary colours and the rest various white/gray/black shades etc. I just rechecked and saw my error.

Considering any 16:9 content will accomplish (effectively) the same thing as D-Nice's slides, I don't think the number of slides or even the color or hue of the slides is particularly relevant as long as there's some variety.

Anyone else notice that the very last pixel line to the left on the screen has a slight purple tint to it? I caught it while running the break in slides. Thanks!
