Currently searching for a new tv. Just sold an old 720p 70" sony xbr.

Size needs to be 60-70". Can get by with the 60" but 5" bigger is always a good thing.

60"ST60 vs 65"S64

What do you choose and why? Both are same price roughly. I know how good the st60's are supposed to be from the reviews, but cant tell if they are THAT much better than an S64 that losing 5" would be worth it.

Would just like to hear some opinions on what tv they would lean towards buying. Thanks!

The ST60 outperforms the S60/S64 in every picture quality category which to me, far outweighs the extra 5 inches of screen size you get with the lesser-performing panel. The S60/S64 is no slouch, but isn't on the same level as the ST60.

Here's one of the many threads about it . . . . .

Sony 55W800B, Panasonic TC-P55ST60, TiVo Series3 & Premiere, TWC Cisco 8742HDC DVR, Onkyo TX-SR333 AVR, URC MX-890, MX-780, R40, MX-450, MX-500 Remotes.

Personally if you don't care about 3D, I would go with the larger panel. The performance difference isn't that much and 5" is pretty significant IMO. Especially considering that you're coming from a 70".

thanks for the help guys!!!

Was leaning towards the 65S64 but costco didnt have any in store, so it woudl add $100 to my total cost. After shipping i was looking at close to $1650.

Did some shopping around and was able to get the big size with the best PQ, found the 65ST60 shipped for about $1900. So I only had to pay $250 more than the s64 to get the 65ST60.

Cant wait!!
