Hi,

I have a SAMSUNG PN50A450 wich has a vertical black bar of 2.5 inches almost in the middle of the screen. In the bar are a thin whitish/pink and blue line. Any idea what the problem is? Is it worth a repair?

The plasma panel is defective. Sadly this is extremely common with Samsung plasmas. Short of replacing the whole panel, which is rarely economical (80 to 90% new TV price), the TV is not repairable.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, this is really annoying. I'm missing the old times when these things worked for 25 years without complaining...
