Im looking for a TV which the primary use will be playing video games. However, i'm not only going to stick with modern games. I do play games on ps3 but sometimes i like to play older games on Wii U virtual console. I've been browsing the plasma tv forum for the past week and I saw some posts talking about image retention and possible screen burn in which makes me fear about this : if I play a 4:3 game like megaman2 for 5 hours for example, will I get permanent screen damage? I'm talking about the two vertical black bars on each side of the screen.

Here are the tvs i'm looking at :

1 - TCP50U50
http://www.visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?categoryId=520&productId=9924&sku=TCP50U50

2 - TCP50S60
http://www.visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?categoryId=520&productId=21158&sku=TCP50S60

I heard these two tvs have low input lag which is what I need.

So basically, should I go for plasma or go to lcd/led? Will I get screen burn in if I play a lot of 4:3 games?

If I were getting a tv primarily for gaming, I would probably lean towards a LCD/LED set.
With plasmas, you have to be a bit cautious for the first 100-200 hours with static images and 4:3 or widescreen bars to avoid IR. After that, you're generally fine. However, if you're gaming for hours on end, then I lean towards LCD/LED sets to avoid the possibility altogether. I occasionally game on my PS3 and Xbox 360, but I primarily watch blu rays and hi-def cable, so I wanted Plasma for the 'superior' image quality. If I gamed most of the time, I would personally get an LCD/LED. Just my 2 cents..

Thanks for the info, if I put on some movies or tv(with no static image) for the first 200 hours, should I be fine after or there's still a high risk?

Generally speaking, you should be fine after several hundred hours. You still might get some IR if you play 4:3 games for several hours, but usually that will go away if you watch full screen content for a while. A lot of folks (myself included) will also run color slides when we're not watching tv to 'age' the phosphors on our plasmas for the first 100-200 hours.
I have 3 flat screens in our house, all plasmas. But I would still lean towards LCD/LED if gaming was the primary function of the tv, as I would not have to worry about IR ever, and could game worry free for days on end.
