So, I know this has probably been asked quite a bit already but I couldn't find anything on it particular. I have a panny VT series and I do watch shows and games that have static logos often, it seems like its inevitable and you just can't get away from them. Has over 1000 hours on it already, never had burn-in issues on it. Almost every night I am finding myself running the scrolling white bars to get rid of the IR which does its purpose with flying colors. I feel like I shouldn't be doing this every night or am I wrong?

If you are gaming regularly doesn't seem excessive to me, if you aren't gaming then it is much more proactive than I would be. I never run the scrolling bar and have not had one single intstance of ir that I have noticed but I don;t game on my set so can't speak to that.

Depends what you're watching. But either way it won't hurt it.

Sorry I should've clarified, I don't game (xbox, ps3 etc.) but I watch games as in sports (football, tennis, baseball etc.) I do have high contrast on the TV around 98 which I'm sure doesn't help with the IR.

My ISF Day mode contrast is 100 I never run the scrolling bar and never see IR, so yes in that case I see that as excessive. Have you ever not run the bar to see if your IR disappears on its own, I watch plenty of sports also and have had no issues thus far.

I think maybe once or twice I saw IR, but that was only with a completely white background. I assume it goes away after a while with regular content and with the TV off?

Yes it will, if you want to be diligent run the scroll bar once a week or so beyond that I think it is overkill

I usually run it about 6 hours once a week. Just play music or something and let it go as long as I don't have to be in there.

But I also turn it on if I have a paused image on the screen and need to leave the room.

If it is not seen in normal playback, it does not have to be "fixed".

Okay, that's what I figured. It is definitely not seen during normal content so we are not worried about it now.

While playing GT5 I noticed the "now loading" indicator, the speedometer, and other static instrument images when a uniform screen pops up. I play the bars for a few seconds (5-10) and it disappears completely. So 6 hours might be a bit excessive IMO.
