My 3yo son threw a toy and caused severe damage to my beloved Pioneer Elite. As you can see by the picture below I'll obviously need to replace it but, what would you guys recommend. I also have a one year old coming up behind him. I hate the thoughts of buying an LCD but, are they tougher or hold up better to impacts? Is the some kind of screen protector available? I would appreciate any advice. I'm just sick about this.frown.gif Thanks.

Oh man I have been there that blob only expands frown.gif Wasn't a Kuro but still traumatic. If you are sticking with Plasma tts between 3 sets imo. Panasonic ZT or VT, Samsung F8500. I have seen a few Kuro owners jump to the ZT they seem pretty happy.

Any plasma will be fragile, Sony made some tvs with Gorilla glass but not sure there current models sport that

55ST60
Sony BDV-F7 3dbluray/soundbar
Calman Enthusiast
Dish Network with Hopper/Super Joey

LCDs are more fragile than plasmas.

Neither screen will survive a kid's toy. You may want to use an inexpensive LCD if the kids are around. Or an older generation Panasonic plasma with a Tough Panel (PZ70, PZ80, G10 etc.)

Plasma screen is around 4~5mm thick. LCD panel is around 1.5mm~3mm thick.
