Hi all,

Both 65ST60 and 60VT60 can be obtained at around $2k today. Since the price is very comparable now, I was wondering which TV would be a better option.

Now, I know the best / standard answer here is "Depends on what you value". If you have a huge living room and like big screens, go for the 65 inch ST60, and if your living room has a lot of daylight coming in, and you like little features etc, then go for the higher model in 60VT60, etc etc.... I'm just an average dude who likes to watch movies and maybe play some games on the TV. (mainly movies though) The big window in my living room will face north. My living room won't be humongous or anything. So, if you were to recommend a TV to an average TV consumer, which model (65ST60 or 60VT60) would you recommend?

Thanks!!

The average consumer would be more then satisfied with the ST60's performance and would not care about the little better blacks of the VT60. The only thing is the ST60 has bad input lag but for a casual gamer it is fine.

I would choose size here but as you said, only you can make the decision what is more important to you. The VT60 will give you a better smart TV experience with a better processor, built in camera and voice control. It will also have better 3d playback then the ST60.

Yes and that's another reason the VT is likely quite a bit better. The last Panasonic I tried was the ST50, but the difference between ST50 and VT50 is apparently about he same as ST60 to VT60 and supposedly it has a big difference in reflections, not only the black level and input lag. After using the kuro I see how big of a difference it can make when you have great antireflective. The ST sets are all good antireflective still, but just not as good as the VT ones, apparently.

This would be such an easy answer for me if Panasonic hadn't screwed up so badly on the ST60 input lag. I game so therefore would choose the VT. However, if that's not really a concern then I'd definitely go with the ST.

If I had to choose, what would complicate it for me is they force you to get bigger and bigger sizes for each model up! Like it would have been so horrible to offer all sizes for all models.

Why would you go with a 55" if a 60" and 65" is in your price range. There is a large difference in the actual viewable screen of a 55" and 60", it is 20% more screen so even a larger difference in the 65".
