I've been streaming Netflix through my Samsung plasma for several months beautifully. Have been pleasantly surprised that it passes 5.1 info to the receiver. As of yesterday I get no audio at all to pass from the optical output on the TV to the Denon receiver with the Netflix app. All other apps - Pandora, Youtube etc, and the sound made by the TV itself play just fine. When streaming through my Sony Blu-Ray player I do get sound, so I don't think it's a Netflix issue. But the Sony doesn't pass surround signals and has trouble maintaining a wifi connection, so I don't really want to use it. Has anybody else had an issue with the Samsung Netflix app?

Does your Denon have Audio Return Channel (ARC)? If so, plug your Denon into HDMI 2 on the Samsung. Go into the Denon settings and turn HDMI Control "On" Everything should go from the TV through the receiver automatically.
