This has been torturing me for a couple weeks. I can either get a 60" Samsung F8500, or, for $50 less, a 65" Panasonic ST60. I'm upgrading from a 36" 480i CRT, so I'm sure that either unit will flat out amaze me, but that's not making the decision making process any easier.

Unfortunately, the store only has an ST60 on display, which looks pretty good despite the minor image retention. The auto brightness control was also very noticeable. I've read that the F8500 is brighter and doesn't suffer from as much IR and ABL, but also has fairly limited vertical viewing angles. Just wish I could see one in action!

I can easily control room brightness, don't care at all about 3D performance, and will be sitting around 9 feet away from the TV.

To those who've seen both, which one would you pick?
