Hey all,

I just bought  a new LG 60PH6700 plasma and for the life of me I can not find a thread here on calibration for this TV.

Is there another model number I should be looking at for the settings?

Any help would be appreciated because out of the box setting are terrible!

If you're not measuring, you're not calibrating.

CNET has posted settings that you could try out. They're linked to from their review of the model. I recommend that you use a free disc such as AVS HD 709 to find the basic settings that work for your particular unit and viewing environment instead though.

Adjusting settings according to personal preference is not calibration.

Thank you. I've tried those settings as they were the only ones I could find. They are absolutely horrid settings. I expected better from C/Net, but then again they have really fallen off the radar in recent years because they are so biased and lazy.

Thanks for the link to the AVS HD-709 but that is just way too involved and complicated for this old goat.

I ordered the Disney WOW disc and will try that.... But still can't believe there isn't a thread here discussing this model and the settings..... That is what makes me think this model is a related to another model and the settings can be shared.

The CNET calibration report doesn't look bad. It's pretty close to the targeted standard. Either you didn't win in the lottery that sharing display settings is, or you don't like a calibrated picture (it can take some getting used to). Either way, DIY is the way to go and the WOW disc should be a great help. Good luck!

And yes, there generally aren't a whole lot of LG owners posting around here.

13 of the 14 people over this weekend to watch football said the C/Net setting were terrible and everyone liked the "out of the box" settings much better.

I am starting to think I should take this TV back and get one that is widely owned.
