Hi all, can anyone comment on sitting this close (6 ft 8 inches) to a 65 inch S60 panel ?

I've got a 60 inch LCD and it doesn't seem to big .. I am having a hard time deciding on my new panel size. I also don't want to lose much picture clarity or sharpness .. since 1080 lines isn't a whole lot of rez for a 65 inch screen imho ..

thanks all !

I sit 8 feet from a 64" and that works great for me but only because I watch Blu-ray movies exclusively. The few times I tried watching cable content I'd say I was too close. You begin to spot compression issues, and on top of that most TV programming appears to be shot and edited by visually impaired people with ADD. I'd literally get a headache almost regardless of what I watched. I'm sure this is a YMMV type of issue but whenever I see viewing distance questions come up, source and content type seem to be left out of the equation. In my experience the raw numbers only tell half the story.

Adjusting settings according to personal preference is not calibration.

Epson 5030UB, 100" Carada Criterion with Classic Cinema White, Onkyo TX-NR818, NHT Classic 3s, an Absolute Center and SuperZero 2.1s, Mirage Omni S10, Oppo 103D. Currently boxed up: Denon 1713, Klipsch SW-450,
Energy Veritas 5.1s, a 5.2C and a V-Mini-C.

I re-measured and I am at 87 inches .. 7 feet 3 inches .. I need to find out the width of the picture ..
I recall something around 1.2 X the WIDTH being a THX min viewing distance ?

That sure is close. You will definitely see compression for non bluray material.
