Just wondering if anyone knows what this Cinema Smooth on Samsung's plasmas actually do?

The only thing I can find on it is:

"Cinema smooth adjusts the frame rate of the panel for displaying 24fps source movies on Blu-ray Disc® , dedicated 24p cable and satellite channels at this native frame rate. The resulting video characteristic is a smoother and more natural film like experience."

Turning it on and off on my set changes approximately nothing when viewing, so I have no idea what it actually does.

Many thanks.

I think it runs 24p material (shot at 24 frames per second) at 96 hertz. I'm no expert & may need correcting here, but I think, maybe, it basically somehow quadruples that, either by repeating frames or some kind of interpolation to give a smoother effect, especially on fast pans & zooms.
