So I have a Pn42b450 Samsung Plasma. It was made in 2009 and has served my family well. However, we are thinking of upgrading and since Panasonic appears to be getting out of the plasma business this felt like the perfect time.

Below are some pics of my tv viewing area, if you guys could answer some questions for me.

Here it is with my tv on in the day.

Anyway, without the tv on it looks really bright to me, however with it on the TV looks good to me.

Question is, will an St60 or VT60 work well in this room?

I would not imagine the old plasma has a good filter on it, since it was a sub-600 dollar tv when I bought it late 2009.

Thanks for your input.

They both would look good in your room, and would be a huge upgrade in picture quality.

Media room- LG OLED EG9600 4k, Pioneer Elite VSX-90, PS4, Klipsch Gallery G28's, Klipsch Sub 12, Klipsch RS-52 II, Optik HD cable

Living room- Panasonic ST60, onkyo RC-360,HTPC, Klipsch Reference R-62II, Rc52II

Gaming room -Panasonic GT50 THX, PS3, Wii

You can search for a corner wall mount, monoprice will have some. Most any mount will work but take a look down their page for full motion mounts. I've heard of some that extend up to 36". With that you can pull the tv into the room closer to your seat and make the tv look bigger. There's a link at the bottom of this page.

Make sureyou first select a mount by weight the vesa size should be right then.

That room looks great for the tv's you suggested. The new tv's filter should be darker than what you have to give better daytime blacks.

The new tv will look so much better that once you start watching you won't want to stop, you've been warned, lol!
