Ok I got a new 60" plasma for christmas and a PS4 (always had a 360). So tonight I decided to try out the blu ray player and watch Avatar. All the fast moving scenes were fine but when there would be a close up of a person and the camera panned across I would see some motion judder. Why is this and is there anything I can do about it?
Edit: I have noise reduction turned off and have it in game mode. It's an LG 60PN5000
Is this your first 60"? I used to wonder about that "motion judder" thing myself until I realized I experienced the same phenomena at the movies. I think it has something to do with the size of the screen and your eyeballs subconsciously scanning side to side to pick up all the action on screen. Only my opinion but I think I'm pretty close to the truth.
I just read today that turning on "Real Cinema" for bluray movies should alleviate most of the shudder. Something to do with 3:2 pulldown vs. 5:5 pulldown, I think. Not needed when watching tv.
