Sorry if this has been asked before.

I just bought this set, but with no stand. Panasonic is out of stock. Does anyone know of anyone selling a compatible, hopefully cheaper, stand?

Thanks much,

Mark Milano

I was examining the stands for other, previous panasonic models on Ebay and they seem to be cross compatible, but hopefully someone will chime in to confirm.

Actually despite what so many stand sellers claim on EBay, the stands are almost always NOT compatible with any other model than the one that the stand originally came with, even if the stand looks the same or very similar (screw holes are in the wrong places, metal plate is too large or too small, poles are different shapes, screws are different sizes and lengthes, etc etc). DO NOT BELIEVE any sellers on EBay that state that the stand works on other models, they are just trying to dump it on unsuspecting buyers.

The safest thing to do is get the exact part number of the stand from the TV's manual, then only buy that exact part number. If the part number isn't exactly the same, then there is some sort of difference or incompatability that prevents it from working on a different TV, otherwise they would have simplified production and inventory by using the same model of stand in multiple models and not have different ones. In previous years, certain stands were used on more than one model, but in later years they started to become more model-specific.

Premier made a universal pedestal base but it's not large enough to work on large TVs:

What size is your ST60? The stand that comes with the 50" model is different than the one that comes on larger screen sizes.

Edit - I just looked at my 55ST60 manual and unlike previous models, the manual doesn't show the part number for the pedestal bases so that's going to make it more difficult to confirm if anything you find online is really compatible with your particular TV or not.

Thanks for all the help. It's a 50" set.

Here are the model numbers, I believe:

TBL5ZX05091 PEDESTAL BASE
TXFBL5Z0118 STAND
TXFBL5Z0122 STAND NECK ASSY

I think I need all three parts, right?

I also need a remote - the part number is N2QAYB000837. Will a N2QAYB000827 work?

Thanks much!

Those appear to correspond with what is listed on the Sears Parts site. The steel bracket (aka pedestal or stand) comes with the appropriate screws included.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Panasonic-Parts/Television-Parts/Model-TCP50ST60/0789/0333500/50042412/00001?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=TC-P50ST60#

Panasonic sells parts direct, so you should be able to cobble a new stand together for around $75

http://www.pstc.panasonic.com/Epartr/PartslistChoice.asp

TBL5ZX05091 PEDESTAL BASE $41.65
TXFBL5Z0118 STAND $15.22
TXFBL5Z0122 STAND NECK ASSY $16.08

Boy i hope you got a great deal on that TV since you didn't get the stand or remote!

The 827 remote doesn't have the HOME screen button which i think is kinda important. Panasonic's parts department shows the 837 available for cheap (one third of what the Sears parts site shows):

N2QAYB000837 REMOTE CONTROL 12.39 (Sears was like $35)

This is the best and safest advice for sure. Though I wouldn't necessarily say it's universally true. I was able to save several hundred dollars on my 141FD (thank you for the transport advice, Randy!) buying a PDK-1015 stand originally intended for the OLD PRO-1540HD. In that case, the mounting is the same but the front of the stand has a curve to it and it is not as glossy black as the TV's acrylic frame which the KRP-TS01 is. I'd imagine that base shapes and finishes can be different with the key mounting point maintaining a similar layout over a few years/models.

But again, only if you have someone absolutely confirm this (as I did coming here before I bought the stand, which was a great deal at 75.00 brand new) is it worth taking the risk unless you have a good return policy on the stand and are absolutely sure when putting it on that it won't be inadequate for the TV forwards and backwards.

Panasonic seems to use a central square mounting point on many TVs (though the holes or the size of the bracket could certainly be different as Randy said).

Yes, I got the numbers from the Panasonic parts site. They are out of stock of both the stand and remote.

But I just found a complete used TC-P50ST60 stand for $50 (shipping included), so I think I'm good.

I paid $650 for the set, which has 2700 hours on it. How's that?

Got it here, but they're sold out:

http://www.tvtechparts.com/TBL5ZX05091-p/tbl5zx05091.htm

You can create an email alert so you know as soon as it's back in stock, though.

Are you confident that they'll ever get any more in stock? Panasonic probably only made just enough stands to supply one with every TV (especially considering it's not a "repair part" that they need to have in stock) so there may not be any extra inventory. They shut down the factories over two months ago so i'd imagine there aren't any spare stands in the inventory chain anymore.

Every part number or combination of part numbers (in that posted link) is available in an eBay situation and some with "best offer" asks. If a person is very confident of the part numbers I don't see any reason a person couldn't accomplish a buy for likely $50 or less.

I don't believe wanting or needing has anything to do with Panasonics build #'s and for sure there are over runs for every part of an assembly. No one - "no one" does a matching quantity of production runs. There won't be any orders after a production run likely but there is inventory. Do you want to pay the Panasonic "service part price"? Not likely!

I'd think a person could have one and have it mounted by week's end!

But they don't have any to sell for that $70, which concerns me. Since Panasonic themselves are out of stock, the fact that they closed the manufacturing plants over two months ago and are not making any more parts or components makes me there may not be any more stands in the supply chain. Panasonic's strategy in the last months of production were to have very slim inventory levels, and that doesn't sound like a company that was interested in making a bunch of extra stands near the end of the model's production cycle, and are not able to make them now that the plants are closed down. Sure it's possible that the parts may still exist somewhere in the dark depths of the supply chain or are on a tractor trailer or train or cargo ship somewhere on the planet, but i think it's very unlikely.

Thanks,

Actually Panasonic has the pedestal/stand/base and bracket but neck on back order. They don't list as one but 3 parts to make complete stand. They absolutely guaranteed would get eventually LOL. Gave me break on shipping $12 to $8 Total $78 shipped.

I finally found after much research & looking stand for TC-P50S60 vs. ST were same part #'s. With that found good deal on ebay new other from new TV with some minor scratches $50 shipped. ;)Found several others on ebay used $75 T,  New other $89 T & New 99 T both last from new 50ST60 units, TV never sold.

I greatly appreciate this thread. Best Buy Parts and Panasonic Parts sites were out of stock on what I needed....

Good deal on yours!! I picked up a just returned open item last night. It was missing the TXFBL5Z0122 STAND NECK ASSY
Sears was the only place I found this part in stock. It was more money, but Best Buy advised if I bring in receipt they will credit me back the part and shipping. The set was also missing the 2 pairs of 3d glasses, so they gave me two new in box pairs of Panasonic ones. (you can consider the non-rechargeable Samsung pair if you need more.) They zeroed out the price of both! I paid $599 for the TC-P50ST60. I really wanted a 60 inch but I could not pass this up..... I've never seen this set under $900, plus now they are all gone forever.

I already have a TC-P40S60 and will be curious to compare......

How do I check my hours? Which threads have you found helpful here for your set? For now I plan to use CNET display settings.......

EDIT:
Found

Now looking for testing sides vs D-NICE Burn in slides......

A0018-0000 for instance means it has 18 hours on it. Later on the letter will change to B, then to C. My 55ST60 currently says C0951-00000.

Press Exit when you're done.

Can't believe BB did that - every one I went to refused to offer me any reimbursement for the missing stand, glasses, and remote.

On another note - does anyone have advice on how to make SD channels look better? I've put Motion Smoother, MPEG NR, etc. on max, but they still look awful.

On my Sony HD CRT, they looked great, but many of them are unwatchable on this set. The HD channels look great, but that's not all I watch.

It's only bad if the panel got permanent burn-in during those 4200 hours . . . . otherwise that's only a small fraction of the panel's rated life of 100,000 hours.

Back on topic, did you ever get your stand issue worked out? What did you end up doing about it ?

Sears orders from Panasonic, shipped from Panasonic and charges more than Panasonic. Base/bottom same but neck & bracket was almost 3 x the cost.

If anyone is looking for the stand, neck, bracket, and screws for the TC-P50ST50 (note 50"), drop me a PM (or email valkyrie at rocketmail.com). I just wall mounted mine and would part with the stand. All sealed and still in manufacturer's wrap.

P/Ns as follows: TBL5ZX05091 (pedestal base), TXFBL5Z0118 (bracket and screws), and TXFBL5Z0122 H (neck).

Cheers.
