Yes the screen size is very important. If you're not looking for a big screen size, the 51" Samsung PN51F8500 in the best plasma in that price range. By far.

But if you want bigger than 51", there are a lot more choices from Samsung and LG so you'll need to tell us other important stuff like how big you want the screen to be, what kind of content you watch (movies, sports, prime time TV etc) and if you'll be watching during bright daylight or at night in the dark.
