The dimness can be my eyes not use to it since I had bright Samsung led. I am using dice settings day mode with panel high.

That is probably it just an adjustment period is required, the VT is nowhere close to LED brightness, but I find my day mode plenty bright with sunlight streaming in the room. The color saturation and blacks are very well maintained imo

Cnet states the VT60's motion resolution without using frame interpolation as 700 lines. Ditto for the F8500. The highest rated plasma last year was the ST60 with 800 lines. Quite a big downgrade from 2012 as the VT50 could hit 900 lines and the E8000 1000 lines. Youre PF30's 1200 lines was measured on standard 60hz correct? If so, then it's quite drool-worthy. It looks like the VX300 could be my ultimate CRT replacement, not the Kuro 500M, not the ZT60, not the F8500. And I wouldn't have to tradeoff bad contrast ratio by going with motionflow impulse LCDs. I'm losing interests in OLEDs quick. I played Sonic games on Galaxy phones and they're not very fun with sample and hold.

It's puzzling for sure. BTW, Katzmeyer seems more strict than other reviewers so that could also be a factor. Even though there are human errors involved with motion resolution measurement, I can't truly go with one of motion resolution test disks used by RTings either. They made it sound like my Panasonic S60 is equal to the Samsung F5500 LCD, HELL NO. The damage in motion resolution caused phosphor lag is greatly exaggerated and I can easily tell that by comparing against my mobile OLED displays. OLEDs may not have after effects, but since they're startup is much slower than my S60, well I prefer playing Sonic games on my S60 than OLEDs.

Yes using the FPD benchmark but this is a really confusing topic for sure, I don't know how or if the VX300 processes motion any better or differently or if they just named "Advanced Motion Resolution" after "IFC min" because I noted that option went missing at the same time AMR has been added to the VX300, BT300 and PF50. It gets even stranger when CNET states the ZT60 as achieving 1200 lines with or without processing, all I know for sure is on my panel IFC at minimum does not add new frames or change the panel refresh until you kick up to medium, and that motion is not perfect by any means and that I would expect the ZT to perform even better.

Sorry for the off topic redface.gif anyhow I recommend cinema/pro modes for computer sources and gaming, it's the only way you will see 8-bit color, for some nintendo and older gaming stuff you don't need true color so can use the brighter dynamic modes, apart from that you might like a cooler color temperature as games are not made for 6500k or any specific temperature and always always make sure that motion enhancement is low or off to keep input lag down, all other settings should just transfer over nicely

That's a tough call guess you have to ask yourself if you are okay with where the IR is now ? The F8500 is a very good set also, I have heard the 60" size is more prone to buzzing tho.
