How often should a Plasma be calibrated?

Hello all,

I purchased a 65" Panasonic ZT60 last summer and had it calibrated around Thanksgiving. I was wondering when, if ever, it would be necessary to calibrate it again. My brother has his done once a year and he barely watches the damn thing. That doesn't seem necessary to me. If possible, please give me a time frame in viewing hours. Thanks

Only if your blue gets duller on average. If you get way too much red, you may need to up blue, for example. Don't calibrate it yourself, if this happens. It is also worth noting that too much blue is fake.

Good question.

Sets drift over time, Panasonic plasmas tend to drift towards red in the greyscale, even if it drifts it may not become visible for quite a while. I would wait until you notice something, skin tones tend to be a good indicator of when it is time for a tune up.
