Keep Panasonic Plasma?

I'm moving from house to a condo. I have the option of giving my 5-year old 57" Panasonic Viera Plasma to my girlfriend and getting a new TV. If I did, I'd want a 60" and wouldn't want to spend more than $1500. As long as my Panasonic is working, wouldn't getting a new LED be a waste of money. I've got kids some the TV was used quite a bit, so not sure if they picture has degredade much over that time, probably in the ball park of 10,000 hours of viewing I'm guessing. In my condo, viewing angle is important due to the configuration of the place. Seems like I'm best just waiting for the Panny to die and then maybe by that time OLED will be more affordable and the way to go?

Answered your own questions! You're on the right track I think.. if viewing angle is important, LCD is going to be a horrible experience. If the Panny is working fine... keep it, God knows that if the gf ever leaves, she's taking your plasma tv with her.

If you're just looking for an excuse to go out and buy a brand new tv, and 60" and less than $1500 is your criteria.. I'd hold off.

Panasonic TC-P55S60
Sony S5100 BD-Player
RCA 5 disc DVD HTIB for 5.1 Surround

You can always see if anyone is trying to "upgrade" to 4K and dumping their Panasonic ST50 or even ST60 or better

Now that would just be stupidity if someone wanted to do that.
