This Is A Longshot But...

I have a Philips plasma 50PF9731D/37 and I just realized that this tv has the Ambilight surround feature but the lights(left, right, top) don't turn on .
How can i figure out whats preventing the feature from functioning correctly?

Does anyone know where i can get the ambilight parts?

Thanks.

Ambilights will probably be available from used parts dealers.
First, try check ambilight menu option and try fixed colour, see if those options work.
Do you have a digital multimeter?

You will have to open the set up and provide pictures of the parts inside, I have fixed a Philips amblight TV but not this one.

Quick update. Since putting the tv back together...I have observed the ambilight on the left side turn on twice randomly. It's on for about 2 or 3 seconds and then it turns off. Ambilight mode was on color.

Still won't turn on via the tv menu...

Is it me or does your PSU have a few popped capacitors on it?

Looks like two of them on the lower left side of hue psu....yup....

Might have to open her up again to check the capacitor model.

Think I can use the same capacitor that the people of the 9631 thread used?
