Xbox One INCOMPATIBLE with PN60F5300/F5350!!??

I've posted about this issue in numerous other threads and have yet to find a solution.

It seems the Xbox One does not work correctly with my Samsung PN60F5350 plasma.

I have done a full calibration using my PS3 as a source. Everything is perfect with the PS3/F5350, but with the XB1/F5350 the grey scale is shifted way red ... and all flashing bars are visible in the white clipping pattern (nothing I tried increased white level / stopped any bar from flashing)

If I disable 24p output in the XB1 and force it to output 60p all whites are blown out and all blacks are crushed. No TV setting adjustment helps.

I hooked up both my XB1 and PS3 to a different TV (Vizio FALD LED-LCD) to see if there was any difference in white level readings. They were exactly the same, the patterns turned white at the reference white level (bar #235 ).

(all settings properly set and left the same)
PS3/LCD - Works Great!
XB1/LCD - Works Great!
PS3/Plasma - Works Great!
XB1/Plasma - Whacked out grey scale and severely crippled white output!??!?

I've tried every combination imaginable. Full RGB output instead of limited ... enable 50hz ... 24/30/36bit ... turning on/off cinema smooth ... I went through every possible setting on the TV and XB1 and changed it up to see if it had any impact: No change.

Has anyone successfully set white level with their XB1 / PN60F5300/F5350 ?

What's going on here?

Maybe the video card on the XboxOne is defective? I'd try another...

If that were the case - why would it work w/the LCD?

My brother in law has an XB1 that I could potentially borrow to check.

Have you turned off any Deep Colour / xvYCC options?

I have. In the XB1 there are color depth options @ 24bits / 30bits / 36 bits. I've tried them all - no change.

Quick update:

Didn't anticipate much help but I decided to get on with microsoft support chat to see if they could offer any insight. Steps suggested were: unplugging everything, plug back in, reboot, clear persistent blu ray storage 3 times, reboot.

This didn't fix the issue but it surprisingly made a change. Prior to performing these steps 24p clipped only whites. After it crushed all blacks AND clipped all whites, which was the same effect changing the console to 60p output had.

Not sure why clearing persistant storage would change that?

In the end, they determined something could be wrong with the console (although I'm not certain they fully understood the problem) and suggested I send it in for repair. Before I do that I'm going to get my hands on another XB1 to determine if it is a localized issue with just my console or widespread.

Please let us know.

I am considering this TV and now after reading this tech-savvy forum, it am a little apprehensive about the 60" being pentile, magenta tint, screen door effect, etc. but I am coming from a 10 year old Toshiba DLP so I know it will be a big upgrade!

I have a ps3 and will have a ps4 soon so I am also wondering if you experience any input lag (maybe tough to decipher whether it is lag from servers or input?) in online games so far? I play mainly sports games and 3rd person shooters like GTA V, Uncharted, etc.

I've now played PS4 thru a 60" Grand WEGA Sony LCD proj, a ZT60, and the F5300. No issues with input lag in my opinion. Not a pro gamer but I believe the Samsung is ~35ms and the Panasonic ~45ms. Both have Game Mode, which is how I play.

Probably a stupid question, but did you try the Xbone on BOTH of the TVs HDMI ports and have the same issues? Although unlikely to cause such an issue, seeing as how unplugging and plugging back made some difference, did you try to use a different HDMI cable to see if that helps?

BAD NEWS

Tried a different XB1 - same result.

It appears the XB1 does not work correctly with this TV.

I'd love to hear if anyone else has had a different experience.

Game play is incredible. I play FPS at a fairly high level and was extremely impressed with the responsiveness and motion. I dont know what the input lag is rated at (ive seen 30ms range stated, which is very low), but it seems great. I'm used to gaming on a 34" CRT (Sony XBR970).

Tried different HDMI cables and the second HDMI port. No change.

I sure hope this isn't an issue with other Samsung plasmas...

I have an f8500, and at some point I'd like to get an xboxone too, but this would be a real deal breaker.

AVR: Pioneer VSX-1018AH, 5.1 audio
