I'd say if you want an F8500 plasma that you should do anything in your power to get one while you can. There have been reports that supply is starting to dwindle, especially on the 64" model.

A lot of credit cards give you 12 months 0% interest too as long as you make regular monthly payments.

But if you know you want one, I'd strongly consider getting one before too much longer. No one knows how long existing supply will last and once they are gone, they are gone for good. No one else will ever make a reference quality plasma and it will be a few years yet before OLED is affordable.

Less of a rush on the 51" or 60" F8500, but if you want the 64", I'd hurry up and get one while the getting is good. No one knows when they'll sell out, and many stores have reported they don't get any more stock in once they sell out of what they have. I just placed an order for a 64" myself as I didn't want to wait too long only to find they were all sold out.

Be especially wary of grey market sellers on Google Shopping (Like Abe's of Maine and East Coast TV's), while they advertise the items at cheap prices, they are not authorized merchants and there are too many complaints of bad business policies to keep track of.

If you want this TV before they're all gone and you're concerned that you might receive a defective buzzing set, you're better off buying now so that they'll have some TVs left to replace your defective one with.

As for not liking the 3D feature, you can just ignore it but the 3D feature adds enhancements to the panel that makes regular picture quality better so it's not completely useless. There are probably a lot of features on the F8500 that you'll never use (just as there are on my ST60) but don't let that influence your decision.

It's really not much of an issue if like me you watch TV from a long way back say more than 6 feet. I can hear it only if I'm standing close to the tv like 6 or 4 feet away , it can be easily drowned by slightly loud sound.

Also there are many who have fixed this issue just by tightening and loosening some screws in the back panel. The buzzing is more of nit picking by many people, don't worry about it.
