Samsung F8500 value in 2015

I would like to know if anyone thinks F8500 will go up in value next year. I see the Panasonic prices sky rocket for brand new set in the box. Does anyone think Samsung plasma will go up in value like the Panny?

This tax free weekend I plan on purchasing a 60 inch F8500 if I can get a good deal and reselling it later on. I don't plan on using this TV at all, only for purpose of a resale. I already own a 60 inch ST60

I would say there is a better than 50/50 chance a new f8500 will be selling for over retail in 2015, but by the time you mess with buying and reselling, and hoping the set if the box is never opened is not defective, I could think of better places to invest your money. Stick it in your 401k or other savings plan, for example.

I think it's risky trying to flip an asset class that generally depreciates over time.

If OLED keeps coming down in price, and 4K quality improves, I think plasma value will plummet. My guess is it will be of little value in 2 to 3 years. If I could get a 65 inch 4K OLED for the price of current F8500's in a few years, which may very well occur, all 1080p tv's will be worth little.

what I want to say I don't think I should...

imo, the price some retail locations list for MAY go up. they will be shady places that you wouldn't normally want to deal with anyway. places that would be your last resort, and that's why they can get away with it, they will be the only ones with stock. the price you could personally sell one for will not go above retail. you can't offer warranty, you can't offer satisfaction guarantees, you won't take exchanges or returns, or delivery. you simply can't offer anywhere near the value a store can.

buying something like this for the sole purpose of profit is risky, and if you decide to do it, I actually hope you get burned.

That can't be real? It looked like she was joking/playing for the news just to make a story. She didn't seem that dumb. Then again maybe this helped her get a bit wiser.
