Should I look for ZT60 or just wait for oled?

I am debating now to either wait for Oled or just get a plasma. Will oled be that much better than plasma? What are the differences? Its seem that the ZT60s out there new or used are expensive. Do I stick with my Toshiba 57" hx83 cinema series rear projection and save money for oled? Just trying to compare the 2 and don't know too much about oled, but it sounds promising. Any advice?
Thanks

OLED has infinite contrast ratio (black level). That's the biggest difference. Depending on your budget don't expect OLED to be under 2K for a few years. LG is coming out with a 55" 1080p model for $3500 soon.

imo, you should be deciding between getting the much cheaper Samsung f8500 to use for the next couple of years until oled gets larger and more affordable, or jumping straight in to oled now.

the zt60 is priced out of being a reasonable choice now imo. I wouldn't pay more for a zt60 than you can buy an oled for now.

Agree - if you have the budget to get some of the very last new ZT60s or VT60s then you have an OLED budget now (I'd still wait a bit) OR in the near future as things settle and mature maybe this year or maybe next. This would make me inclined to sit with what I had or stop gap with a Samsung 8500 if you feel it's necessary.

As someone who doesn't update displays often I got my VT60 on sale to replace my 55" Mits RPTV (making it a great upgrade or reasonable stopgap to OLED in a few years if I decide to go early or put the VT in the basement or other area). You will be happy with an 8500, VT or ZT. They look great.

exactly my thinking! last year, buying a vt,zt, or f8500 was a great way to 'wait out' for a good oled. I just wouldn't pay inflated prices for them, if they cost the same as an oled, it's not much of a stop gap purchase anymore

I wouldn't be surprised if you can get a 65" 4K OLED for $3000 by the end of 2015. Maybe even cheaper depending on how things shake out.
