Cool New User Needs help with Samsung PN64F8500

Hello, I am a new user and have just recently got a killer deal on the Samsung PN64F8500! I have been wanting this plasma for some time now and have not made the purchase because of price, until I found a deal too good to pass up.

My question to the community is I am interested in breaking in this particular model and then calibrate it as well as any other information I can get for this particular model. I have searched all over the internet and keep coming to AVS, my problem is that there seem to be so many posts here and I am having difficulty figuring out which post and information to go by for the 64" F8500. If anyone could assist me and/or point me in the right direction that'd be awesome!

As of writing this I am at a MRT (hours of usage) of 88 and it runs at about a temp of 46. I am hoping this will not hurt my screen's life.

Please help!

discussion thread
calibration thread

nothing really special required for the f8500. plug in, adjust the settings with some test patterns, enjoy, 300hrs later, calibrate, ENJOY

Thanks for the info! I contacted a few THX specialists and they told me just plug in and watch. Where can I find these test patterns? And I am enjoying very much so! I got my PN64F8500 for $1800 and its new! Not to brag

Wrong thread to discuss pricing again pal.
Samsung f8500 pricing reduction?

Perhaps I misremembered.
