Amid predictions that 4K will lag in the TV industry, the next 5 years; LG has decided to review its lagging PDP business. Sales of PDPs are uncertain at the moment, but seemed to have increased because they are bargains.
There is a Korean manufacturer called Orion PDP, they make information/advertisement displays. 42" only, 852x480 resolution. But I don't see how plasma can compete against very bright LED-LCD for public info/advertisement, so I don't see them being around much longer.
hopefully this means they're all in on oled. I think it's proven itself a viable plasma replacement, it's already kicked lcd's butt. so in all honesty, I am a lot more interested in LG oled's, than I've ever been in LG plasma's. they offer a great value, but I'm more in it for the absolute performance. as long as the TV's will last me several years, I can justify paying the money. for me, buying one top end tv for 3-4grand every 5-10yrs is a better plan than buying midrange TV's for 800-1000 every other year.
