Replacement for 500M, want to go 60"

Looking to go from my 500M to a 60" display. I do NOT care about smart tv. Just want bare bones, but great picture. As for cost, would like to be around $1500 or so. Any recommendations?

Well you're in the plasma forum so the likely answers will be a 64" H5000 around that price or a little less, but you'll get some features. Or a 60" 5300B for about half that price, which won't have the features. The 60" 8500 is nice too of course but over your $'s listed.

The H5000 and 5300B will have some differences in PQ but be very very similar to where you're nitpicking. 5300B might be your set.

There are questions that may pertain such as - what do you watch, what time of day, do you have a bright viewing environment, lots of stuff you'll see in reflections, what viewing distance, and so on. More info will get you a better answer.

Buy a second hand VT60 or one of the last few remaining at Panasonic stores.
